Cousin Reunion

Elaine Thorne wife of the new VVGA President George recently returned from a trip to Sydney where she met up with eight of her cousins. They are pictured here with their red hats not as members of the Red Hat Society but so they would not lose one another.

The first cousins get together every two years.

It started in Melbourne in 2003 when they got together to celebrate a family birthday and the reunion was such a success they decided to they would make it a two yearly affair so in 2005 they met in Brisbane and last year in Sydney for a wonderful 4 days .

The Cousins consist of 3 Queenslanders 2 from New South Wales and 4 Victorians. They created a great deal of interest in Sydney and were stopped several times to explain this unique arrangement and the red hats.

This was inspired by Elaine who encourages people to contact their relatives and others who are an important part of every family.

Ladies at Morwell

Partners of the Veteran golfers had their own event at the Morwell Golf Club .

They found the course very difficult and the winning score of 30 points was an excellent effort by Shirley Robbins from Commonwealth Golf Club. There was a ball run down and several mystery prizes which added to a good day.

On Day 2 the ladies went on a bus tour of local attractions and returned to the Traralgon Golf Club for lunch. Below departing on the bus
