Message from the President
George Thorne

As President, I will be committed to the traditions of Veterans Golf that have been established over the past years, they being through our sport good fellowship, friendship and friendly competition.

There are twenty-one golf Districts, with a total membership of four thousand and forty five across the State in 2007. These Districts are broken up into six groups across Victoria: with an elected VVGA Councilor representing each one of these groups.

Throughout 2008, five golf clubs across Victoria will again host the VVGA Major Events, of which I urge members who have not participated in these events before to do so, so that they may experience the excellent fellowship friendly competition and hospitality of these clubs’. During these events , wives and partners are most welcome and well catered for with golf days, dinners and bus tours of the local area.

The Parmaker sponsorship enters its 13th year in 2008 and has been well documented, and I urge the Veteran Golfer Members to support this company in return, when thinking of a motorized golf buggy.

I look forward to the future with confidence in our Association, and meeting as many members as possible across Victoria in my term as President.

Yours in golf

George Thorne
President
